Nintendo News | Wii Does Composite?

By Jorge Ba-oh 15.09.2006 13

Quick News: The Wii is set to ship with an all-in-one composite-component cable according to technology site CNet who spoke to Nintendo yesterday. The company stated the cable would be similar to "the one included with the premium Xbox 360". Thanks to C3 reader Tim for the tip.

Stick with C3 for future updates.

I guess they wont like to screw people over like sony did. Oh i forgot, this is nintendo.

Silence is the loudest noise we could possibly hear.

nice was hoping they were going to do that... should make games like Zelda and Metroid look that little bit more impressive. Good that its free too because they are usually quite expensive Smilie

Aye, maybe that's why it's bumped up the price. But for $250 you'd be mad to complain. Smilie

I'm very impressed with the price and packaging for the US version of Wii. I'm particulary impressed with the quality of the launch games and the amount available. I can't wait for the 2007 line up though. I downloaded a trailer of the new Metroid build with expert mode. Not only does it play more fluidly, the graphics have been given a serious ramp up from the E3 demo. I can't wait to see how it looks on my TV.

Agreed OLU, that new IGN walkthrough is absolutely amazing!

"This man has advanced communist views ... He dresses in a bohemian fashion both at his office and in his leisure hours."

But will it do RGB via SCART by default? I hope so as most people will have RGB but most people will not have component.

A complete package...sweet!!! Let the pre-order begin.

As almost always, OLU says exact the things I wanted to say. Have a star for that!

Hey, yes, It's nry. RGB per scart by default will do. I have it with Gamecube and it's cheap and crisp. Nintendo could have cropped the cable and took 30 EUR for it. They didnt, and that's the reason 250 EUR (As I think) are not too expensive, because they insert enough into the Wiibox to satisfy me and the price they charge for it.

Pre-order is already done!

Other Question: What cable is included in the European version? RGB? Component? SCART-RGB?

I find your lack of faith disturbing!

We already knew this, it's in all the press releases. How else would the Wii version of TP have prog scan? We still need to know if it does DVI or VGA.

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.
