Update: With reports earlier today from UK Trade magazine MCV suggesting a
I've seen the scans, MCV are a trade journal, that's enough for me.
Sounds about right to me. We'll find out for sure next week, so not long until we know all the facts.
I don't see how they can say stock is not an issue- who's to say how many and how quickly they're going to sell.
Their exact words are:
"MCV can reveal that the new console will hit retail by November 24th, it will be priced at
Sounds pretty good, and with the PS3 not hitting the UK/Europe this year, November's fine, and leaves just enough time before Christmas.
Price is great, I can sure go for something around that price - hopefully, need to get a job first! Hopefully games should be reasonably priced,

bwah! knew this for ages...
Our lecturer showed us MCV and called it the UK's gaming bible during the first Industry lecture at Uni, so this most certainly is about right.
Was a tad obvious anyway

Just updated this story. Nintendo UK have just owned MCV...

On September 14th, Nintendo are also going to announce a new attachment to the Wiimote.
Oh and by the way, MCV's predictions are 85% correct about the Price of the barebones Wii pack. Nuff said
'More information announced next Friday' - that better be ALL information. I've had it up to here with this drip feed.
Pretty confident that most of this right the launch will be in November and the console will be from

"we haven't got any plans at the moment - nothing I know of" when pressed on the question of a DS redesign. He also said his staff would "probably throttle" him if they did have one to deal with.
Two days later Nintendo announced the DS Lite
I would think he's much more 'in the loop' about this, though.
Will there be a live feed of Nintendo's press conference?
I would like to know if the press conference is just a little glimpse & a few new tads of info, including release & price, or could it possibly be more game info, including info on some of the games we REALLY want to know about, like SUper Smash Bros Brawl?
Jesus Christ I shouldn't get my hopes up.... a good launch is good enough...

Is it just me, or is this the first time that Nintendo have confirmed the release date and the pricing for the Wii at next week's press conference? I mean, we all knew that's what the press conference was about... just hadn't heard it from Nintendo yet.
It the zillionst 'reliable info' we got and I do not believe it. I can wait another week and hear it then for sure.
I think they may be right about the price and not about the date. Remember: No one did hear from the controller before the announcement, they (Nintendo) announced many details firsthand with no leak and base their calculation on late numbers, meaning, that they are very flexible in business-plans for the launch with the problems they face like wiimote-malfunctions, changes in remote-bar and maybe even hardware-details themselves.
Oh, and could you guys please drop prices with pound, dollar and euro? That would be great, because only pound and dollar leave the majority of your readers puzzled and they have to convert it first to their currency. Thanks! *wink*
talking about price: a retailer announced a price of CoD 3 for Wii.
The game comes at 11/9/06 and costs 55 EUR, that's 70 $ or 35 GBP (taxes included!!!). That's normal suggested retail price for Cubegames. So I don't think the games will be more expensive...
/edit: a game I never heard of, named "Getting Up: Contents u.Press." has a price of 50 EUR, being 63 $ or 34 GBP.

Yeah, I thought that too. Nintendo knows that its "hardcore" audience isn't thick, but by keeping quiet about what was happening next week, maybe it was an even smarter strategy to release some completely different info. I'm looking forward to next Thurs/Fri anyway.

Bloody MCV, I thought they were THE second-hand source!
Bring on next Friday! I cant wait to hear what Nintendo's got up thier sleeves. November would be a perfect release month for the Wii.
Great news to me. I hope it's true!
