Nintendo News | Nintendo Takes Wii.com

By Jorge Ba-oh 22.08.2006 10

Quick News: When Nintendo confirmed their upcoming home console as "Wii" earlier this year, unfortunately another company had already owned www.wii.com. Whilst Nintendo had previously expressed they had no intention of pursuing ownership, the company now have full rights over the domain.

Stay tuned for future updates.

...Makes sense to me.

I find your lack of faith disturbing!

lol there really isn't much to say about this now is there. Erm, how much does anyone reckon they paid for it?

the other company haggled the up to 169rupees

Mike Gee of iZINE said, "...The Verve, as he [Richard Ashcroft] promised, had become the greatest band in the world. Most of the critics agreed with him. Most paid due homage. The Verve were no longer the question mark or the clich. They were the statement and the definition."

$500 USD which is f all these days?

BOWSER HAS RESET MY STARS TO ZERO FOR INSULTING TEH SYSTEM!

I'd have though they got a disgusting amount for it. It was a timber/logging company I believe.

Lucky bastards.

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

Whoa, the link didn't do anything earlier today, but now it goes straight to Nintendo.com

And now it's completely broken.

So the horrible name of WIi was invented by someone else first? Odd.

Actually the other use of Wii before Nintendo was and abbreviation for something: Wildlife Institute of India. I have doubts that Nintendo named the console Wii because of that meaning..

Stands to reason that they would want it. Bet they paid a pretty penny for it. But i guess they dont want the site to be used fo porn or something . parents wouldnt like nintendo then.

I wonder how much that cost...
