UK Chart Highlights LXXX
...Nintendo Brains the Competition

Your weekly UK Chart Round-Up brought to you by stat-man jesusraz. Remember, the images here do not reflect actual sales!

Brainiacs...

The lasting power of Brain Training and Big Brain Academy in Japan has been phenomenal, with the former over the 2.6 million mark and the latter easily over 1.3 million in that territory alone. Now the trend has well and truly leaked over into Europe, with people going crazy for the brain exercise programmes. When will the madness end?

Cars storms ahead...

With the release of the Cars movie, the game solidifies its No.1 position in both Top 40 charts, with GTA: Liberty City Stories holding at No.2, Brain Training (sales increasing by 3%) up a place to No.4 and Big Brain Academy up four to No.12 on the All Prices Top 40. New Super Mario Bros. may have seen its own sales dip 5% from last week, but it still holds firmly onto No.2 in the Full Price Top 40, with Pirates of the Caribbean 2 up one to No.3, Formula 1 06 jumping six to No.5 and Animal Crossing moving back up a notch to No.9. In fact, even Dalmatian & Friends is on the rise once more, up two to No.12.

Further down, Liberty City Stories on PSP shoots up ten to No.18, Juiced: Eliminator enters at No.22, Miami Vice PSP drops six to No.24 and Mario Kart DS is up a spot to No.26, just ahead of a re-entry for Worms: Open Warfare at No.27. Elsewhere, in a VERY strong week for the DS, Zoo Tycoon on the portable makes it first ever Top 40 appearance at No.32, one place ahead of PSP's LocoChoke-o, with Super Monkey Ball Adventure (down two to No.37) and Lab & Friends (falling ten to No.39) being the only other games of note this week.

Cars is the dominant force yet again on the GC Top 20, although whether it makes any real contribution to the Top 40 is debatable. Pok

Over a quarter of the top 40 being DS games - incredible! I can't believe that Animal Crossing and Brain Training are still sticking about in the top 10, Nintendo are onto something really good here. Keep it up for Wii, for God's sakes!

Bloody hell, excellent stuff! I can't believe how popular AC is! Aside from the broken down DS stands in shops and the TV adspot that used to run, it wasn't promoted too much and my area, yet it's doing/has done so well!

Good recap Adam Smilie

The DS is just doing amazingly never would of have ever thought Nintendo could pull it of and they better get it rolling with the Wii, it is rumoured that Nintendo have upped the Wii production by 1.5 million units to 5.5m by Christmas. We can just hope it continues never would have thought Zoo Tycoon would have made it in the top 40

Optimist. Smilie

Nah, it's probably in the hundreds per month though, pretty pathetic.

Party!!!

Nintendo's doing well all around Europe, and superbly in countries like Germany, France and the Scandanavian countries.

Smilie look at THQ & Sqaure Enix

that graph isn't representative of how certain companies are doing if so EA and Nintendo would be away in front and to be honest square enix wouldn't even have enough to gain 1%

Can we have a disclaimer about the graph? We get this every couple of weeks, it's like the 'why can't we see just the charts?' thing we got every time until the note was put at the bottom.
