Nintendo News | Updated US Release Dates - October 2nd Wii?

By Adam Riley 26.07.2006 13

Below is the list that Nintendo has released, showing that Europe's exclusivity over Dalmatian & Friends ends in October and that only Final Fantasy V will launch in 2006, with VI seemingly pushed to 2007. Finally, just as Kirby's first DS game had an awful name, so does this Flagship-developed platformer...But do you think Squeak Squad is better or worse than Canvas Curse (US name) / Power Paintbrush (Europe)?

  • nintendogs: Dalmatian & Friends (DS) - 16th October
  • Final Fantasy V (GBA) - 6th November
  • Elite Beat Agents (NDS) - 6th November
  • Yoshi's Island 2 (NDS) - 13th November
  • Kirby Squeak Squad (NDS) - 4th December
  • Custom Robo Arena (NDS) - 4th November.
  • Update
Nintendo issued a press release to go hand-in-hand with the release dates with a little hint for when the Wii could be released in the US.

The fourth quarter of 2006 will herald a new era for Nintendo with the launch of its remarkable new Wii

Very impressive release list but it's stupid in my view to release the likes of custom robo and kirby when there are so many good DS games available at Christmas and of course the release of the Wii, Nintendo keep them for a rainy day you know when there is a period where there is little games being launched, makes sense

Kirby - Magic Paintbrush for Europe was a worse title than Canvas curse

    Power Paintbrush*

Looks like there are plenty of great games that will be out for Christmas. I am going to have a big list this year.Smilie

I agree with Ashcroft, over saturation of the market may lead to a drop in sales figures where it could have been avoided. Then again, thats why Mr Iwata is all the way up there and I'm here. He gets payed to make those decisions Smilie

    Custom Robo Arena!!! Yes!!!

i just want custom robo. i'e wanted it since the n64 and now i can finally get it. one problem i may be out of money thanks to the wii. oh what to do. i think overtime may hve to be done.

Really hope we get to see some new footage soon! I reckon on the day they confirm release dates for the Wii, we'll hopefully get a brand spanking new trailer.

Well, I just found this fishing video I hadn't watched properly yet, so that makes half a trailer I guess.
Nice music in that one, very calm and relaxing, sets the mood perfectly.

At the risk of sounding like an over analyzer, Final Fantasy is the only game given a release date, which happens to be on the rumored November 6th.

Also, gamedaily have looked at it, and long story short they think October 2nd.
