Although simplistic and sleek on the outside, the Wii is one complicated little unit within the plastic shell. In order to satisfy a growing number of potential customers for the last quarter of 2006, Nintendo's partners are hard at work making sure that Wii will be ready.
According to leading website GamesIndustry, orders for Wii components have increased, and production targets have been set. One very important part, the remote sensor inside the Wii's unique controllers are produced by PixArt Imaging, who report shipments of the chip may well reach a million in August 2006.
With an increasing production line and orders, this could very well suggest an advantage for Nintendo over its competitors for the very important end of year sales.
