Quick News We've just uploaded 5 new screens of what will proabably be the final AAA title for the GC and you can see them here. The game comes from Intelligent Systems (of Fire Emblem fame) and is due for release on 3/8/2006 in Japan.

Stick with C3 through the GC's final days...

Paper Mario 2 absolutely rocked.

Allthough id prefer another full RPG, this still looks amazingly fun

i really like the look of this game, i dont whether it will warrant a purchase for a good while though. i hate paying

God I love the Paper Mario serius and I cant wait to get my grubby hands all over Super Paper Mario it looks sweet.

I wish this were coming out on the DS. I doubt I will buy it for the GC. I am more focused on getting games for my DS at the moment.

I'd like to hear more about this game, I didn't buy the previous Paper Mario games because they were RPGs, I may get them eventually, but for now I'm only drooling over this because it looked like it might be another proper platformer, does anyone know how much of the game is platoforming? Because Nintendo might not notice it, but a GC sidescrolling Mario Bros game with the Paper Mario style is quite frankly, PERFECT.

When I first saw this, I thought Nintendo were finally onto something, MORE Mario sidescrollers!! It really is a good idea!! Smilie

I don't think there should be an RPG twist... Just good old platforming... I NEED SOME DECENT PLATFORMING!!!! O.o

I just realised they cahnge the colour of 8-bit mario back to his original colours too... Why? Red + Brown is hideous to say the least...

I really honestly think, Nintendo should just make a Paper Mario sidescrolling game, I don't care about RPGs, we've only had ONE Mario sidescroller since the early 1990s (no good)

EDIT: So far, from the screens, it looks like more of an RPG, I guess it would be alright to have levels as like routes between each town or major location, I dunno, I just want the platformer!! Smilie

But just because it's Mario doesn't mean that you should think of "they should make a platformer". Intelligent Systems have a fine tradition in RPG's and Paper Mario is a fantastic way of bridging some cracking RPG action with a more accessible series and a more accessible manner of playing. Including the platform elements makes it even more accessible, however the RPG elements are needed to differentiate it from the platform crowd and allow the depth and humour that has made the Paper Mario brand so popular.

It's like Mario 2.5D!! I didn't know you could switch it from 2D to 3D at a flick of a button when it was revealed at E3. Will be very intresting to see how it playsSmilie

I hope this turns out well. I can't say I enjoyed Paper Mario 2 as much as some people. I liked the battles but the backtracking and pacing was annoying and slow. I hope this one has Mario running faster than he did in Paper Mario 2 or NSMB.

its looking awesome i really like the paper mario games and this looks like it will the do the series justice... ive just thought wasnt paper mario one of the final games that came out on N64? perhaps nintendo are doing the same thing?!! Smilie

Paper Mario is so delightful, I think it's very well suited for a Side-Scroller.

Why exactly do people think it'll have RPG elements anyway? I thought we were told it's just a platformer? Plus it's called Super Paper Mario. That suggests to me it's just Super Mario in the Paper Mario style. If it was another RPG it'd just be called Paper Mario 3
