First 4 Figures is a subsidiary of Puzzle Productions, who established themselves in 2002 to produce high quality official resin collectables. They own licenses for a variety of well known franchises including WWE, Magic the Gathering, Transformers, Doom and G.I Joe to name but a few. But we know you don't want to hear about them, it's the Metroid Prime and Zelda collectibles that have got each and everyone of you squirming in anticipation!
Gail Tilden, VP of Nintendo Brand Management stated that "We are extremely excited to be working with First 4 Figures to develop a line of figures inspired by Metroid. Metroid fans have come to expect the best from our video games and we are confident First 4 Figures will deliver the same quality with their statues."
Alex Davis, director of first 4 Figures also likes the prospect of working on another of Nintendo's greatest franchises.
"We are very excited to be working with Nintendo on the Legend of Zelda brand. The franchise has clearly stood the test of time, having just celebrated its 20th Anniversary.
The first game captured the imagination of a generation, with the following games capturing the imagination of another and then another. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess looks all set to do the same, ee will be mainly concentrating on doing statues based on the games The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess."
The world will get their first look at the collectibles in less than a weeks time in Los Angeles at the biggest gaming event of the year; E3! The figurines are scheduled for launch in the third quarter of the year and will be available from specialty stores worldwide as well as certain online retailers.
Darren Martin, another director of First 4 Figures and had the following to say, "We will be using original Metroid game data for the majority of the collectibles. This will enable us to create highly accurate collectibles that remain faithful to the original source."
The final products will be around 9 to 12 inches tall and will cost between $85 and $120 per statue. However entire pre-prepared dioramas will also be available for prices exceeding $200.
