E3 2006 News | Metroid Prime 3

By Barry Lewis 18.04.2006 36

Speaking in his IGN blog Matt Cassamina, resident Nintendo fan, has revealed that Metroid Prime 3 is guaranteed to be at E3 and furthermore will be "fully playable".

We can only speculate that this (rather predictable) mini revelation indicates a very advanced development status and that the much-anticipated flagship title is well on track for launch day. Matt also revealed his full confidence in both the development team at Retro Studios and the quality of MP3, with the following personal comment:

"I have full confidence in Retro to make Prime 3 one of, if not the must-have game of E3 2006. This will be the game that shows all other companies how to do first-person gameplay with the Revolution controller."

It'll be interesting to see whats added (other than revmote use) to seperate this from the last 2. Hopefuly the multiplayer will be online.

I'm praying for some planet hopping, and some ace flight sections, really thanks to the ship with big ass guns at last E3 Smilie

God bless you Matt *Dreamy look*. Great news, a flag ship mature title is what the Rev needs, no Luigis Mansion shite.

I'm looking forward to seeing this only for a showcase on how we could be expected to play Shooters on the Rev'. Apart from that I'm not a Metriod fan, Smilie.

I've been playing Echoes from the beginning to see if I liked it, since I wasn't impressed with the first playthrough. I eventually got stuck and even bypassed 2 abilities and so got in a mess. Smilie It's definitely worth playing, even if it's inferior to Prime.

I'm in a very Metroid Prime mood, so I 100% hope that is out for the launch of the Revolution. Bring on E3!

I had no doubt this was going to be shown anyway - I've been hearing things about MP3 being extremely far in development, and we're expecting it around launch, so it was quite inevitable.

I can't wait to see what they have done with this game!!

Bring on E3!!

Working like a fiend isn't very fun... and surprisingly isn't very fiendish either.

Hopefully it's not only the controls that will change, as changing that alone without changing some gameplay will not work. Hopefully it will take the beauty of the enivronments and the music of the first prime, take the story of fusion and the difficulty of echoes.

After the boring, badly designed Echoes, I can't get very excited about this. Willing to be pleasantly surprised, though.

Sorry for double-posting but how the hell do you have 0 posts?

The first post doesn't count as a post I think.

News comments don't count towards the post count.

Finaly a playable Rev. Game

A fail so epic, it may just be a win.
