Revealed by Miyamoto himself during today's Treehouse Live Pokémon GO segment, the game is launching late July for iOS and Android devices.
Players will be able to start their journey to try and catch 'em all by exploring real world locations.
Also available at launch will be the Pokémon GO Plus accessory, retailing for $35. The Pokémon GO Plus connects to your phone via bluetooth and allows players to discover and potentially catch Pokémon without needing to pull out their phone. If a Pokémon is nearby, the Plus and phone will both vibrate and the player can simply push the button on the Plus to throw a Poké Ball. The button will flash different colors if the catch is successful and glow red if the Pokémon got away.
At launch only the original Kanto region Pokémon will be available to find and catch, but future updates are planned to eventually introduce all Pokémon.
Though no details were provided, it was hinted that future updates may allow connectivity with Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon.
Gotta catch 'em all!
