The Legend of Zelda is 30 years old. Whether you're a fan of Nintendo's series or not, there is no denying that video games owe an awful lot to Shigeru Miyamoto's iconic creation that began way back in 1986 on the humble Famicom.
Released on 21st February that year in Japan, and then in North America and Europe the following year for the Nintendo Entertainment System, the series has seen many ups and downs, varying art directions, innovative gameplay designs and a number of different Links over the course of its history, and is set to continue with another completely new entry for Wii U later this year.
In celebration of the 30th anniversary of the franchise, the team at Cubed3 will be coming together to produce a host of Zelda-related content. Over the coming weeks and months, we will be sharing articles featuring some of our favourite moments from the series; what we consider to be the best of certain aspects, including items, dungeons, bosses and more; retro reviews that look at how well older games in the series hold up today; our views on the best games in the franchise; and much more fun and exciting content.
We hope you'll join us in discussing favourite memories and features from The Legend of Zelda and look forward to sharing our group thoughts over the next few months.
