Only Several More DLC Characters for Smash Bros.

Super Smash Bros. producer recently spoke about downloadable content in the latest issue of Famitsu magazine (translation via Source Gaming).

He started by discussing the recently released batch, which includes Ryu, Roy and Lucas, and how these characters were made prior to the Smash Bros. ballot - but Sakurai did have a "grasp on their popularity" to ensure that they would be included.

Sakurai was also excited to work on Ryu, paying particular attention to the little details. With the limits on button press and inputs, Street Fighter illustrator AKIMAN question whether Sakurai was "sure it's okay to make performing a Shoryuken?"

Now that the trio are included in the updated Super Smash Bros. roster, the rest of the downloadable content will be "fan service" till the end. Since the team can't be working together forever, Sakurai noted how there will only be "several more characters" and he's asking for fans' patience when working on these characters.
