Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice Slides onto 3DS on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Sonic isn't ditching the bandages any time soon, with Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice storming onto Nintendo 3DS.

Developed by the same folk who worked on the previous portable title, Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal, the new game continues to provide a single player adventure with Sonic and friends as they battle Dr. Eggman and D-Fekt.

The new mechanic this time, as the title suggests, involves both fire and ice elements within the gameplay, giving more special character moves to affect play. Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice also takes a slice of the past, with more speed-run elements, but also caters for those who'd like deeper exploration plus puzzle elements.

Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice also offers Bot Racing, a multiplayer feature that uses character-themed bots that zip along fast courses for speed glory.

Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice is out this winter. In Europe Nintendo will distribute and market the game, whilst SEGA remains as publisher.
