Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games Announced on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games has been announced for Wii U and 3DS.

Announced during the latest Japanese Nintendo Direct, a trailer was shown, detailing new sports and characters in the game.

The Wii U version of the game will feature football as well as rugby sevens, a sport never before seen in the Olympic Games, whilst the 3DS version of the game will feature golf, which hasn't been played in the Olympics in over 100 years!

A host of brand new characters have been spotted in the gameplay too, including Nabbit from New Super Mario Bros. U, Jet the Hawk from Sonic Riders, and Zazz from the recently released Sonic Lost World.

Oh god yeah, defo :p Really want a new Mario footie game, and loved the character designs/outfits in them... Hopefully we get another on Wii U or NX.

Look at the state of the spin on the rugby ball when they throw it in that trailer lmao. That's not how you pass a rugby ball!
