Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon Heading to 3DS on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Nintendo have confirmed a new entry in the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series.

Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon will be released on 3DS later this year (2016 in Europe), joining the series of turn-based action games which sees the player taking direct control of a group of Pokémon as they traverse dungeons with randomly-generated layouts.

Few details have been released regarding the game, but the official website promises the ability to fight alongside Legendary and Mythical Pokémon in order to save the world.

Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon will be released in autumn 2015 in Japan, winter 2015 in North America, and spring 2016 in Europe.

Hopefully they'll give it more depth than Gates of Infinity. It was really good and  even great in many aspects but the mechanics were simplified to a point where I really wished it had the gameplay of Explorers of the Sky etc.

With this set to release fairly soon, I wonder if we can already conclude that mainline Pokémon is skipping this year? I'd certainly welcome that.
