Castlevania veteran Koji Igarashi made headlines recently with a Kickstarter campaign to fund Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, a spiritual successor to Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. While the game is only guaranteed to be in development for PS4, Xbox One, and PC, the game's Kickstarter page hints at a possible Wii U and/or 3DS stretch goal:
Our budget left us with two options: Build the biggest, most beautiful game we can, or make sure it runs everywhere from the start. As things stand today, we can't afford to create the two separate versions of this game that would be necessary to make it run on every console. That said, we've heard legends about a remarkable treasure hidden in the castle basement...
"The basement" seems to refer to the structure of announced stretch goals on the page, which appear as different levels of a tower starting from the top and moving down, hinting that this stretch goal could appear in the future.
At the time of this writing, the campaign is close to reaching its second-to-last stretch goal, so fans hoping to see Bloodstained on Nintendo consoles might have some good news coming their way in the future.
