Could Mario Kart 8 Get More DLC?

As part of Nintendo's plans and strategy for the coming months, could more Mario Kart 8 DLC be incoming?

Nintendo has released two major updates for Mario Kart 8 thus far - Legend of Zelda and Animal Crossing themed characters and circuits. 

Within the Nintendo strategy statement for the period 1st April 2015 to 31st March 2016, the company notes how "additional download content for blockbuster titles such as Mario Kart 8" will be part of the incentives to drive momentum and interest in these major Wii U titles.

The latest DLC pack, Animal Crossing, was released in April, during the aforementioned period - however - so it already ticks that box, but with that in mind, could even more content be planned for release over the coming months?

Nintendo certainly hasn't been shy to include Mii costumes for Mario Kart 8, so this could be part of the ongoing content additions for the game, perhaps.
