Over 4 Minutes of Pokkén Tournament Action

Things get a wee bit heated in a new trailer for the upcoming arcade brawler, Pokkén Tournament.

The world-famous Nintendo critters, including Lucario, Pikachu and Machamp, step into a very different arena in the new game this year - an arcade styled fighter from the creators of the Tekken and Soul Calibur franchises. Fist other trainers, unleash deadly balls and give an electric whip in intense one-on-one battles.

The game itself will also get a more conventional controlpad, rather than the traditional analogue stick - hopefully paving the way for an eventual release on Nintendo's home console.

The new footage takes a look at some of the game's cast in motion, special moves, assist characters and more.

Pokkén Tournament will be available in arcades later this year in Japan.
