In a journal in Game Informer magazine, Super Smash Bros. producer Masahiro Sakurai discussed classic stages.
The latest set of games, available on Wii U and Nintendo 3DS, contain a selection of new arenas and much-loved classics to battle upon. From the fan-favourite "Temple" to "Onett Town", there are numerous stages from past entries that made the cut - but why?
Sakurai noted how it would be "impossible to create completely original world settings for each one," noting how it was necessity to port past arenas, made possible on a "variety of balance decisions."
Some of these factors included how popular a past stage is, if it works on the Nintendo 3DS screen, plus if two stages in a franchise are both ports on 3DS and Wii U.
What do you think of the stages that made the roster? Would you have chosen differently?
