A report from Unseen64 highlights cancelled projects from Super Mario Strikers creators', Next Level Games.
Believed to have been in development for Wii, Xbox 360 and PS3 back in 2011 (though the formats do remain unspecified), the game was pitched to be a puzzle platformer starring two grumpy blokes.

The characters, Otto and Herman, would have been caretakers within a magical clocktower that's floating within the clouds, called "The World Clock." However, in typical fashion, on their final day before retiring, evil gremlins attack the tower and it's up to the pair to patch things up, defeating these beasts.
Artists behind the game noted how it would have been a "puzzler with combat elements," but the project only got to concept stage, with no prototype being created.

Arist Derek Stenning noted how the publisher had another team working on a game with similar mechanics, and the project had to be canned.

What do you think of the concept, would you have like to have seen it produced?
