Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto has admitted that Nintendo perhaps spent too much time on dual screen Wii U.
Speaking to investors during a Q&A session, Miyamoto noted how "we have to admit that we might have focused too much on the unique uses of two screens." He feels that Nintendo should have put more effort into NFC earlier, but the team will rectify this with "projects that make use of NFC in a variety of unique ways."
Recalling the early stages of the Wii U's lifespan, Miyamoto noted how the team aimed on "focusing on the unique ways to make use of the TV screen and the smaller screen on the GamePad" and trying to use the controller without turning on the TV, to bring an experience closer to Nintendo 3DS/DS.
Games will still take advantage of the second screen, however, with a range of titles planned for release in 2015 and beyond.
Despite a growing userbase and improved sales, Nintendo "are still making efforts to demonstrate the potential of Wii U even today," Miyamoto admitted.
Do you think the Wii U can truly cement itself within the market?
