Over 19,000 NEW 3DS Faceplates Sold at Launch

Fans are going gaga over the NEW Nintendo 3DS faceplates over in Japan, with a fair few sold at launch.

The cover plates, which replace the existing front and back covers on the NEW Nintendo 3DS handheld, offer a vast range of designs from Super Mario Bros. to Monster Hunter. At the moment these are only available for the smaller NEW Nintendo 3DS consoles, however, rather than the XL/LL varities.

During the launch weekend around 19,000 faceplates were sold at launch, with the Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate designs being particularly popular, along with Yoshi and the "wood grain" Mario design.

The company are also intending to release even more faceplates next month.
