James Pond Reboot No Longer Heading to Wii U on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

System 3 have confirmed that the James Pond: Robocod remake will no longer arrive on Nintendo Wii U.

The remake of James Pond: Robocod will no longer be available on Nintendo Wii U, company CEO Mark Cale confirmed today. The game is, however, in development for 3DS, PS Vita, PS4, Xbox One and PC, with versions for Apple's iOS currently being considered.

The Wii U version isn't the only victim, with the project no longer heading to PS3, Xbox 360 and Android.

Series creator Chris Sorrell noted how that "Gameware own the rights to the James Pond character and to any new James Pond games, but System 3 own some specific rights to Robocod."

Only really liked James Pond 3 on Mega Drive so no loss

Considering the poor handling of Putty Squad, and the lack of communication surrounding its release plans - did it eventually come out on 3DS at retail or eShop only??? - this doesn't surprise me too much.

Pretty sure it was James Pond 2 I used to play on my mate's Master System across the road from me loads. Hella fun at the time. Still remember the music lol.

I vaguely remember JP - I think a friend of mine had it.
