Famitsu magazine has confirmed strong sales for Level-5's Youkai Watch 2 in Japan, with over a million units sold so far.
The game launched in the country on 10th July, and the pre-release hype has certainly paid off for the studio, with the game selling well over a million units in just four days. The exact figure clocks in at 1,281,096 copies now in the palms of newcomers and fans alike, with the trend presumably set to continue over the coming weeks.
By comparison, the only other 3DS titles that have had similar strong launch days are Pokémon X / Pokémon Y with 2,096,050 units sold, Monster Hunter 4 at 1,281,096 units and Animal Crossing: New Leaf with a solid 721,786 units.
Youkai Watch 2 joins other million-plus sellers like Mario Kart 7, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon and Tomodachi Life in the high-selling ranks. It's even now surpassed the original release, which has a total of 1,160,576 to date.
