E3 2014 | Super Smash Bros. Tournament Details, Roster and more on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

More tournament details have been announced for the Super Smash Bros. E3 Invitational, including players and rules.

Coming live to players via Twitch, the new tournament will feature high profile seasoned Super Smash Bros. players including HugS, LiquidKen and milktea. There'll be single-knock out rounds with items, and items-off / Battlefield in the grand finale.


 

The players:

  • Lilian "milktea" Chen
  • Hugo "HugS" Gonzalez
  • Ken "LiquidKen" Hoang
  • Daniel "LiquidKDJ" Jung
  • Neha "Lilo" Chhetri
  • Hendrick "DJNintendo" Pilar
  • Kris "Toph" Aldenderfer
  • Sam "PeachyHime" McNaughton
  • Juan "Crs. Jungrybox" Debiedma
  • Kevin "EG PPMD" Nanney
  • Dakot "The Rapture" Lasky
  • Masaya "aMSa" Chikamoto
  • Gonalo "CTZeRo" Barriors
  • Cristin "Crismas" DeSaro
The whole event will be hosted by Geoff Knightly, with entrants required to use a single character for the whole tournament.

Nintendo also announced a new peripheral to allow for Gamecube controllers to be connected up to the Wii U console via USB.

In the spirit of Smash Bros. I think it is only fair that Reggie be allowed to punch Geoff in the face.
