Nintendo to use NFC Technology in Super Smash Bros on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Nintendo France have confirmed that NFC figures would be incorporated in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.

An in interview with Nintendo France, the group re-confirmed that there'll be numerous key releases for Wii U this year after Mario Kart 8 and E3, including the new Disney Infinity, new Skylanders, Sonic Boom, Watch_Dogs and Hyrule Warriors.

In addition, Nintendo are aiming to show off more applications for wireless NFC technology - including Super Smash Bros for Wii U.

It's not certain how the the technology will come into play in the next Nintendo fighter, whether it be through card, figures or something different entirely.

My guess is that it will almost certainly be used for storing stats, custom move sets, and custom controller configurations for easy transport to friend's houses, which is a pretty cool feature.
