Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma recently discussed why Hero Mode isn't available at the start of The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds.
The latest slice of Hyrule heroics has had rave reviews since launching on the Nintendo 3DS last year, however those who want to dive straight into a more challenging experience have to complete the entire game first.
Speaking to ONM, Aonuma was asked why Hero Mode is available at the start of and during The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD, without having to complete Link's adventures at sea.
The producer replied that "it was more suitable to have the players first enjoy the game at an appropriate difficulty level and then let them try a harder challenge", because A Link Between Worlds is a completely new experience, compared to the direct Wind Waker remake.
