UPDATE 02/09:
For the Sequel has been confirmed as the edition heading outside Japan.
ORIGINAL STORY:
RPG giant Square Enix have confirmed that an expanded edition of Bravely Default is in development.
Pitched as Bravely Default: For the Sequel, the upcoming project is an "evolution" of the Nintendo 3DS debut, adding new events, revised controls together with an auto-battle and interesting quad-speed battle feature. It'll hit stores in Japan on December 5th, with a cheaper digital download option (2,900 yen vs the 4,900 yen physical price).
Usability has also been spruced up, with three save slots and the option to tweak the game's difficulty level.
For those wanting to migrate from the original game, For the Sequel can use the same save data.
Nintendo was asked about localisation, but has declined to comment.
