Nintendo has announced that the 3D successor to Flipnote Studio will land in North America this August.
The official website includes details on the new app, which will be free between friends but offer a worldwide community service at a charge.
Flipnote Gallery: Friends will be a free service where Flipnote users can share their creations with friends, up to 20 per gallery. Each user can have up to two galleries at any time, open for 15 days. When one closes, another can be created.
What is Flipnote Gallery: World, however, is a paid service with the first 30 days free. A $0.99 charge per 30 days will then come into effect, with a free period for all users set between 3pm and 7pm. The time period is dependent on the Nintendo 3DS system clock, so in theory can just be change prior to accessing the service.
In Flipnote Gallery: World users can download and rate flipnotes, but these require coins. To unlock coins there are different ways - including how well Flipnotes are rated by the community and by rating others.
What do you think of the Flipnote Gallery setup - will you be downloading the 3DS version?
