WayForward Confirms Shantae Virtual Console Release this June

Missed out or missing the classic WayForward platformer Shantae? The game has been confirmed for Virtual Console release.

Originally released in 2002 for the Game Boy Colour, the adventure revolves around half-genie Shantae who's role is to guard a small fishing town. Life is sweet for the youngster, but things are quickly turned upside down when a gang of pirates invade the town. It's up to Shantae to hunt down the horde and spoil their sneaky plans.

Shantae was released to critical acclaim and soon found a growing fanbase.

Now over a decade later the much loved portable platformer is returning onto the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console in June, WayForward confirmed last week. Shantae be released in North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
