SEGA Promising "Fantastic Developments" for Nintendo Wii U on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

SEGA has commented on the recent cancellation of Aliens: Colonial Marines, promising more Nintendo Wii U projects to be revealed at a later date.

Earlier this week the publisher finally updated fans on the Wii U edition of Colonial Marines, confirming its cancellation. However despite losing its biggest Wii U project to date, the home of Sonic the Hedgehog posted a statement to reassure Wii U owners that there are "some fantastic developments for Wii U in the pipeline which we will announce at a later date".

With the popularity of Sonic the Hedgehog on Nintendo systems in recent years, it's likely that Wii U owners will eventually see a new entry for the blue blur, perhaps ports of classic SEGA titles also.

What franchises are you hoping SEGA will bring to the Nintendo Wii U in the future?

I would like Sega to do a Skies Of Arcadia 2. I wouldn't mind seeing a new take on Shinobi, maybe letting Platinum Games develope it. Shenmue 3 perhaps. A new Ecco The Dolphin game. There's a lot of classic Sega games that I would like to see get a reboot or a sequal. We all know Sonic is coming sooner or later. Wouldn't mind seeing some new IPs from them as well.

Mario & Sonic at the Olmypics Games k thanks bye.

Shenmue 3 I doubt, likewise Ecco.

Sonic is a definite for Wii U, hoping for some sort of exclusive 3DS/Wii U versions like the Wii/DS.

House of the Dead: Overkill - most needed sequel of all time

Shenmue Trilogy
Panzer Dragoon
Sega Rally - VC Arcade
F-Zero UX
Fighters Megamix!
Streets of Rage
Alex Kidd

I figure if any company would still have Nintendo's back it would be their long standing rival & now friend. This is good to hear & hopefully also means more Platinum Gems to come for Nintendo.

Ports?! Awesome. Just what the Wii U needs! -end sarcasm-

I've lost faith in SEGA over the years. Been disappointed by them a few too many times, so this announcement doesn't  especially excite me.

I desperately hope they prove me wrong this time, but I won't hold my breath

As long we we get a decent Sonic game from them, I'll be happy.

Yes to all of these actually! Haven't played Megamix in years. A new Streets would be amazing too!

They've got Platinum games now so at the very least this means it's possible they'll use P* to make more games for Nintendo which is a promising trade off I'd say.

An exclusive Sega Rally would be nice, there's not so many decent racers on Wii U yet.

Another SEGA made F-Zero would be awesome though! Smilie
