Devil Survivor 2 Ready for European Release, Needs Fan Support on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Devil Survivor 2 is ready for a European release but publisher Ghostlight needs fan support for the game to hit the market.

The Nintendo 3DS remake of the first title Devil Survivor is on its way to Europe later this month as Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked, but due to the sequel being on the original Nintendo DS, it's proving far more difficult to release given the lack of DS titles at retail.

An enhanced Nintendo 3DS version of Devil Survivor 2 is heading to the Japanese market this summer, however.

Ghostlight are keen to release Devil Survivor 2 for European fans and have suggested the idea of releasing the game via its online store as a "Collector's Edition" but this "needs your full support", the publisher noted on the official Ghostlight blog this week.

Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked is due on 29th March on Nintendo 3DS.

Would you support a release for Devil Survivor 2  in Europe on Nintendo DS, or should the publisher push for a localised 3DS version instead?

I'd just localise the 3DS versions, It'll save you a lot of hassle. Plus if you release the DS version now it'll impact the sales of the 3DS version later, or more than likely reduce the chance of us seeing the 3DS version at all.

Also people can just import the DS version so there's not as much demand.

Exactly. DS is region free whereas 3DS is region locked, so we don't need it as badly as the future 3DS version.

That being said, if indeed a localisation was needed, perhaps that work won't go to waste when comes the time of releasing the game on 3DS over here?

Only ever played 5 minutes of the first one on DS. I hope for a demo of the remake of the first on 3DS before I decide to make a purchase.
