Craving your next wrestling video game fix? Take-Two has grappled onto the WWE license from THQ in a pending agreement.
After the unfortunate demise of previous license holder THQ, it was rumoured that Take-Two would step into the ring - and it's now confirmed that new agreements are underway to help the development team settle into the new role, minimising disruption.
WWE and developer Yuke's will be able to enter new agreements with Take-Two, plus previous THQ employees that have worked on past wrestling titles will be hired in order to "elimate very large damage claims" and "minimise the harm to WWE and Yuke's" - something better settled in the virtual arena than a court of law.
Assets based on previous WWE titles and development equipment are also said to be transferred to Take-Two.
The agreement is currently pending court approval at time of writing, but all parties have come to a reasonable agreement about stocks, royalties and existing contracts.
Different publisher, same development studio and assets - what do you think of the move from THQ to Take-Two?
