Amidst the onslaught of Wii U announcements, Iwata mentioned that Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo 3DS will appear at E3 2013, the big American video game conference that takes place June 11th to 13th this year. Iwata said that Nintendo would "reveal the first game screens of the new Super Smash Bros. at this year's E3."
No word on video or playable versions, so we may have to wait a little longer. Iwata stated that Super Smash Bros. is "a huge development undertaking and we need more time before it launches." So no word on a release timeframe yet, either.
Given that a Mario 3D platformer by Nintendo EAD (Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, Mario 3D Land), Mario Kart, X from Monolith Soft (Xenoblade), Yoshi Land, Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem, Zelda: The Wind Waker HD, new info on Zelda Wii U, The Wonderful 101, Bayonetta 2, and Wii U VC has all been revealed or spoken about in today's Nintendo Direct conference, we think we can wait a little while longer.
