Keyboard Support Confirmed for Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

There's something quite special about typing on a keyboard over a touch-screen or using voice commands.

The age old peripheral isn't quite dead yet as Capcom have been listening to fan requests to enable support for USB keyboards in the upcoming Wii U release of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate.

The GamePad does offer a worthy alternative and a functional interface for those bouts of alphanumeric thoughts, but a physical keyboard has been the method of choice for fans.

Capcom Senior Vice President Christian Svensson  has confirmed via the Capcom Unity forums that there will be a "day 1 update that will add functionality to support USB keyboards for chat (naturally, there's also a soft keyboard for those to use... and other features we'll talk about later)."

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is heading to Western markets in March.

What's your stance on using keyboards for chat - do you prefer it, or will you stick to standard GamePad touch input?
