Capcom Considering Keyboard Support for Monster Hunter 3 Wii U on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Capcom representatives have suggested that Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate may receive support for traditional USB keyboards in the future.

When the game hit Japanese shores with the Nintendo Wii U system earlier this month, despite new online features and capability, it lacked the ability to tap messages using a regular keyboard. That said the GamePad itself has a big enough touch-screen to cater for a smooth rate of typing, but the option to go a little more physical is being considered - as confirmed by members of the team at Jump Festa 2013 last week.

So what about people who use the Wii U Pro controller? Do they expect them to pick up the GamePad to type every time? A lot more cumbersome than just putting the controller away for a second and quickly typing something on a keyboard in front of you. It's not even remotely as fast as any person that can properly type on a keyboard and during battles you don't have time for this.

I seriously don't understand decisions like this one. Monster Hunter Tri on the Wii had it and I used it all the time, how hard can it be to support USB keyboards for text chat for this game too?

It better be included when it comes to Europe!!

By the way, I was thinking the other day about USB keyboard support in the Wii U web browser. Does it work? It did in the web browser for the Wii, so I should think that it would come as standard for the Wii U one as well. Has anyone tested it yet?

I find this odd. I played MH Tri on the Wii and I liked the USB keyboard support. I preferred the keyboard over the Wii Speak peripheral (too many impolite nuts out there.) I'm surprised its removal was even considered in MH3U. The USB keyboard works fine when I use it with MH Tri on the Wii U.

This surely should be a very minor thing to add indeed.
