Mallo Falls onto Nintendo 3DS eShop in Europe

Puzzle fans will soon be able to enjoy the follow-up to one of the most popular puzzle-platformers of the year when Fallblox becomes available for download from Nintendo eShop on Nintendo 3DS on 15th November.  Fallblox sees the return of Mallo, the sumo-wrestler-shaped hero from the original Pullblox, as he pushes, pulls and climbs his way to the rescue -- but with gravity and a much bigger play field to contend with, he's going to have his hands full…

As in Pullblox, the objective of each challenge is to reach the top of a structure called a Fallblox. Where he previously rescued children, Mallo now has to collect the colourful birds that won't budge but comfortably settled down at the top of each structure. To complete a challenge, you simply have to move the blocks into an arrangement that lets you climb to the top and reach the bird waiting for you. However, while the coloured blocks of Pullblox could only be pulled outwards or pushed inwards, Fallblox adds a third dimension and a whole new layer of challenge to the puzzle experience.

Moving one block can have a drastic effect on all the others above it; if you push or pull a block in a way that leaves the blocks above unsupported, gravity will now make them drop down until they hit something solid. Blocks can be moved sideways as well as forwards and backwards, so planning your moves carefully is the key to succeed. There is plenty of room to move blocks around, as the play field is now nine layers deep and also far wider than it was in Pullblox, but the option to rotate the camera around the Fallblox ensures you can always keep the overview.

Not all blocks encountered act in the same way -- some have special properties that can be taken advantage of when solving each puzzle. Cloud blocks, for example, can be moved around like any regular block but don't fall when left unsupported, meaning you can use them to prevent other blocks from dropping down. With 140 new challenges as well as 90 training stages that offer insight into the most important new gameplay mechanics, puzzle fans will be challenged like never before in Fallblox Park mode, but the brain-bending fun doesn't stop there. If you are feeling creative then you can also create your own challenges in Fallblox Studio mode and save them as QR Codes to be shared with other players. Such QR Codes can now not only be scanned with the Nintendo 3DS outer cameras but you can also use the Internet Browser on your Nintendo 3DS to view a QR Code image, save it to your SD Card and then import it directly into your game.

Fallblox players can also receive 20 free, additional puzzles created by the game's developers spread out over a period of about 9 months from the launch of the game. Fans are encouraged to keep an eye on their SpotPass notifications and the upcoming official Fallbox website. With challenging new gameplay, hundreds of new puzzles to tackle and a deep level editor, Fallblox is set to appeal to Pullblox fans and pull in new puzzle enthusiasts alike when it becomes available via Nintendo eShop on 15th November across Europe.
