New Trailer for 3DS RPG Bravely Default on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Today's Nintendo Direct presentation explored more aspects of upcoming 3DS exclusive RPG, Bravely Default: Flying Fairy.

Iwata demonstrated the game's battle system, techniques, plus confirmed that there'll be over 20 jobs and a a hefty 300 abilities available to adventurers. Bravely Default takes on a more classic approach to turn-based battles, using a combination of "default" and "brave" to command strategy and build up "BP" to gain extra turns.

The project is lead by Square veteran Tomoya Asano, with stunning environments penned by artist Akihiko Yoshida.

Bravely Default: Flying Fairy is due out October 11th in Japan with a new demo due in the eShop.

Well if this comes to the States they'll DEFINITELY need to change the name. I'm openminded BELIEVE ME but even I know this name sounds totally gay & confusing.

"Bravery Default" not sure what the heck this is supposed to mean, possibly being forced to be courageous in difficult situations? Not sure though, the name confuses me & a lot of other people I'm sure.

"Flying Fairy" ok that could very well be the name of an important Airship, I understand the possible meaning but it still sounds stupid...

It is not wise to speak on subjects you do not know all facts about, nor is it smart to judge a game based on looks alone. PSN: Nintendo_Gamer 3DS: 4296-3029-7422

They really need to change the name for western release, Bravely Default makes as much sense as Heroically Retarded. Dumbest name for a game since infinite undiscovery. Yes spell check you are right to complain about that rape of the English Language.

The title is really my only gripe with this game so far. I really dislike when new IPs or series have a subtitle. I'd much rather it be Bravely Default. It's also really embarrassing cover art for an 18-25 male like myself to purchase. (I realize the design isn't official)

I'd also like to point out that Tomoya Asano is not a Square 'veteran.' He worked at Enix a few years before the merger. Since being at SE, he's worked on Several games, but this title will only be his second that is not a remake of a pre-existing game.

Akihiko Yoshida, however, has been with Square since '95 and has done fabulous art for some fabulous games.
