Bandai to Release More GC games...
...But Not As Many As Expected!

Nintendo Bandai - The New Square Enix?

Following on from the C3 Speculation Special regarding Nintendo and Bandai's close relationship, which can be read by clicking the above title, C3 now has some information from Bandai itself about its forthcoming games. Below are the rather disappointing details:

Mobile Suit Gundam Seed
Released in Japan last July, Gundam Seed is the next in the long line of Bandai action games. Similar in mechanics to last year's Encounters in Space, Seed will feature characters and situations from the television show that debuted in October. (GCN, PS2, Xbox - October 2004)

Digimon World 4
Digimon World 4 has only been officially confirmed by Bandai in the calendar section of its newsletter, so far, though classic monster battles are obviously to be expected.
(GCN, PS2, Xbox - August)

Ribbit King
A new way to play golf (known as "frolf"), Ribbit King has an unusual premise: launch a frog into the air and get him in the hole under par. The game will feature ten different characters (including a duck and a one-eyed palm tree monster), twenty varied levels, and five diverse planets. A story mode and four-player versus modes are also expected.
(GCN, PS2 - May 2004)

Digimon Rumble Arena 2
The sequel to the PSOne best-seller, Rumble Arena 2 is a four-player Smash Bros-esque fighter that boasts more than forty different monsters, plenty of multiplayer modes, secret characters, and personalities from all four seasons of the television show.
(GCN, PS2, XBOX - June 2004)

Whilst this line-up seems rather slim for the GameCube, and perhaps rather child-orientated, perhaps it can be seen as 'better than nothing' and a step in the right direction for the ties between Nintendo and Bandai.
