Disney Newsletter Confirmed Epic Mickey 2 Existence on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Has Epic Mickey 2 finally been confirmed? Apparently so, according to a recent newsletter from Disney.

The newsletter revealed leaked information about the game, revealing what platforms it would be coming too, cooperative multiplayer aspects and also when the game is planned to release. All traces of the newsletter have since been taken down, but originally Stitch Kingdom posted up an article quoting what the newsletter said (read below).

Last year, Disney sent out surveys asking whether fans would like to see a sequel happen, which even included potential box art images. Similar information was also mentioned, including the cooperative multiplayer, where players could control Oswald and fly around like a helicopter with his ears.

Disney Epic Mickey 2 is the latest game in the critically acclaimed Disney Epic Mickey videogame series. In this all-new action-platforming game available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii, Mickey embarks on an epic journey and is pulled back into a world filled with Disney’s forgotten characters. Players can choose to play single-player as Mickey or for the first time players can also choose 2-player split screen mode. In the 2 player mode one person can play as Mickey wielding magic paint and paint thinner to dynamically change the world and the second player can play as Oswald the Lucky Rabbit - Walt Disney’s first cartoon star - with the power to fly like a helicopter and use electricity to fight or friend enemies and solve challenges. Team-up and choose your path to save this forgotten world because the choices you make will alter the story and change the end of the game!

DANG IT Nintendo looses ANOTHER EXCLUSIVE!! I wouldn't mind as much if Nintendo was getting exclusives brought to it's systems but with every sequal jumping to other platforms & Nintendo not getting the same teeatment it doesn't give good reasons for ps2 starting newbie gamers to support Nintendo...

It's like "why bother getting it on Nintendo since SOny & Microsoft will AAALLLLWAYS get it eventually."

That really ticks me off & is a huge insult & injustice to THE longest runing company in the industry!!

It is not wise to speak on subjects you do not know all facts about, nor is it smart to judge a game based on looks alone. PSN: Nintendo_Gamer 3DS: 4296-3029-7422

I think it's probably got something to do with the fact that with the Wii winding down somewhat now in light of the Wii U coming, it would be too risky to not include other formats, especially since the game tanked in Europe. It did moderately well in Japan thanks to Nintendo fixing some gameplay/camera issues, and sold something like 2 million in the US, but for some reason just never took off in Europe.

Sony and Microsoft still don't have Epic Mickey

True enough but it still defeats the purpose if they get the sequal like Da Blob 2 & the port of No More Heroes......freaking kick to our loyal guts!!

Warren Spector had better have fixed the plethora of problems with the first game, his reputation is in the gutter after he hyped epic mickey so much. The camera was the least of the games problems, its like the crystal bearers in that its not fun to play.

I don't have an issue with epic mickey going multiplatform, it better be on Wii U as well though.

Nintendo worked with them to iron out many of the flaws for the Japanese release, so no doubt lessons have been learned.

I must be one of the few people who absolutely loved Epic Mickey. Smilie
