Theatrhythm Final Fantasy - More Screens, Trailer on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

You maybe the turn-based pro, but can you hold a tune in battle? Square Enix are testing the formula with Theatrhythm Final Fantasy.

The new project from the Japanese RPG masters blends classic Final Fantasy action, characters and combat with a more rhythmic approach to facing your foes. Tap and draw with the stylus to over 50 classic tunes from the series, including fan-faves "Clash on the Big Bridge" and "One Winged Angel".

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy was one of the games shown during Nintendo's 3DS conference this week - a swanky new snippet of gameplay and screens.

Day 1.

Ok I'll admit it's a nice touch having the FMV sequences from games...especially Final Fantasy 8's since it had soooo many good ones.

The Chibi "Manikin" character design still bugs me but as long as they put in over 30 different tracks MINIMUM I'd pick this up...that is if it will even leave Japan since the 3DS is region locked...a shame too since that was one of the best features of the original DS & I could play all my fav Japanese games on my USA DS.

It is not wise to speak on subjects you do not know all facts about, nor is it smart to judge a game based on looks alone. PSN: Nintendo_Gamer 3DS: 4296-3029-7422

Wait, so this isn't a RPG at all ?? I thought it was a RPG with rhythm games elements added to the battle system, but it looks just like a boring new twist to the elite beats agents concept in this trailer :/ (the trailer didn't show any exploration at all, and just a single battle).

I was interested before, but not at all all of a sudden if it turns like that.

It will come out of Japan as it's part of the 25th anniversary project.

Ok then yeah I'll probably pick this up, if anything to play the FF6 & FF8 songs with some from 4,7,9 & 10 that I enjoyed.

I just hope they include the lyrics for Eyes on Me....such a great love song.Smilie
