Monster Hunter 4 Eats up 3DS, Concept Trailer on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Monster Hunter has a new 3D home! There's already a port of the third, but Capcom has confirmed a second 3DS entry.

Built on the success of Monster Hunter 3 for Wii, the company last week spoke on plans to port the game to the 3DS alongside the 3DS Slide Pad, an additional circle pad to help bring a more home-console experience to the portable.

Not content with a simple port, the developer today confirmed Monster Hunter 4 for 3DS - the first numbered entry to go portable - action heavy with 3DS functionality in mind. Have a gander at Capcom's concept for a glimpse of what to expect.

TWO Monster Hunter games for 3DS? WOAH, AWESOME. Capcom seems to be making me happy after the disappointing cancellation of MM Legends 3.

Keep the bad boys coming, Capcom. Oh, and bring them over to the west for us to enjoy to. KTHXBAI. Smilie

MAAAAAAN! WHEN I SAW THE 4 ON THE END OF THE TITLE, I ABOUT SH*T MYSELF! PLZ CAPCOM, BRING BOTH OF THESE GAMES TO THE WEST! YOU WILL MAKE SOOO MUCH $$$$$$$$!

I think I'll prefer playing the version for the Wii U.

That looks wonderfully dynamic. Good shadows, movement, lighting.
Clearly rather low poly still landscape wise, but a lot of the rest makes up for it.
What would help is if they could implement the dynamicly generated grass/follage that Xenogears has on the Wii.

Holy Freaking CRAP THIS LOOKS AWESOME!! So not only can you go under water but you can climb & have Mons chase you & destroy what your standing on ONTOP of jumping & attacking them on their backs!!!!??

....This BETTER come to the US of A!!!!

It is not wise to speak on subjects you do not know all facts about, nor is it smart to judge a game based on looks alone. PSN: Nintendo_Gamer 3DS: 4296-3029-7422

Looks like it's going to be better than Tri if they get all this in the final game with everything MH 3G has as well.

I'm honesty suprised, as I expected MH4 to appear on Vita (it still may in some form).
This is a huge coup for Nintendo, but I'm seriously puzzled as to why they announced MH4 right on the tail of the MH Tri port?
Unless this is really far off, they're hurting sales of their own game, as some may hold off buying the Tri port, knowing MH4 is coming.
I know I will wait.

You underestimate just how O.C.D. Japan is for Monster Hunter still, but yeah I agree with where you're comming from.

It looks like Monster Hunter 4 is going to be a 3DS-exclusive (for a while at least), so it would make sense for Nintendo to announce it so early just to steal some thunder from the PS Vita, since it's going to be released later this year in Japan.
