Nintendo have revealed something special for Kid Icarus: Uprising on the 3DS in the form of Multiplayer.
Yes, Reggie announced that you'll be challenging your friends in a 3 vs 3 angel team death match.
Not only that, but from the trailer, Pitt will have a new ally with a giant sword to fight against Medusa.
Kid Icarus: Uprising comes 25 years after the original game was released on the NES. The difference in gameplay couldn't be more different though. In Kid Icarus: Uprising, players must take to the air and ground to fight off the Underworld Army with the help of Palutena. During gameplay Pit is unable to fly himself but with Palutena's "Power of Flight", it enables him to fly for up to 5 minutes, which can be seen in the initial air battles. After that, Pit must take down enemies on the ground.
During Pit's adventure, players can gather a number of different weapons and treasures.
Beyond the single player experience is the games multiplayer feature. This feature of the game is a team battle mode where two teams clash it out together, taking down point totals as each team member is defeated. If a team loses all it's points the last player to die is revived as a powerful Angel Pit. players must then hunt him down and defeat him to win.
During the conference, Nintendo also revealed that Kid Icarus: Uprising will also have Augmented Reality compatibility. Players can have animated characters from the game, in the palm of their hand. Characters are animated and can even battle each other when placed close in range of each other.
For players that are left-handed, Nintendo have stated that "A special control option for left-handed players is also being prepared." The game is said to be coming out holiday 2011, as well.
