Metal Gear Solid 3DS Goes Gyro on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

E3 will host a playable demo of Konami's 3DS port of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater - complete with motion controls.

Series creator Hideo Kojima has revealed that he will be absent from this year's E3 Expo next week, but he's been hard at work putting the finishing touches to the game's playable demo, plus editing the trailer. He also touched on some of the new gameplay features - there'll be some form of gyro control apparently, plus the touch screen will be used for switching weapons for a more accessible approach. Players can also walk about whilst ducking.

Like I said on the E3 forum topic, we're just a few hours away from the pre-E3 Konami conference. Might see some live footage of that game Smilie.

I probably won't see any footage from the Konami conference until the morning since I have to get up early for Uni.

But I am looking forward to this, I've never owned an MGS game, so this may be my first. Plus, the 3D in last year's trailer was excellent.

Same here. Smilie I'm interested in experiencing yet another franchise that I haven't played a game of yet and if the 3D is as good as people say, it should be awesome. Smilie That and I want to get the meaning of some MGS memes out there. Smilie

Meh thanks a lot Konami for making a live video website that doesn't even work XD. A live blog on VGChartz says they're showing the new trailer for MGS 3D right now.

I think I'll be heading to bed, and wait till I can watch it tomorrow Smilie

Based on the new trailer, it looks like they are not sprucing up the original PS2 graphics.

I hope the gyro crap is optional. It looks gimmicky and pointless in the trailer.

With Konami announcing HD collections of Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 for the HD consoles, I think Konami have ruined this game's chance slightly. Sales are gonna suffer when people can get a better looking version complete in a bundle with 2 other games AND with trophy/achievement support.
