The Last Story Opening, Gameplay Footage on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Mistwalker's Wii-exclusive RPG, The Last Story, was released in Japan last week. Have a look at the intro sequence and gameplay footage.

A pair of videos bring us deep into the game through the opening moments, along with demonstrating some of the key exploration and battle features in the new adventure. Customise your characters look and feel, battle through enemies and a rather epic boss battle - a beast with a dozen swords placed nicely through its back.

The Last Story recently scored 38/40 in japanese magazine Famitsu, with two of the four reviewers scoring the game perfect 10s.

That small CG opening is a bit meh, but the gameplay looks fantastic. I really hope it gets localized. The Wii needs a game like this.

Easily one of the best looking Wii games to date imo, definitely a lot of care and love gone into this. Also hoping for a localisation - Nintendo would be silly not to!

I am glad that the last story sold very good in Japan hoping that they continue making this kind of games at least one for 3ds ;p

PS3 is just good for Catherine, Demons souls, Dark Souls, and Folklore

They never said that they weren't going to bring it to the west, only stupid rumours from people asking a low profile Nintendo 'rep' if it was on the release schedule, ofcourse they're not going to know if it's coming out over here.

The game looks beautiful, and it's No.1 in its first week of sales in Japan, selling more than Xenoblade did in its first week, I'm guessing both need to go through some heavy translation. But it can be done.

This game needs to come to the US, there is no excuse for this NOT to happen.:-x
