It's taken a long time to get here, with the US release back in November of last year, but after a few months of waiting, Nintendo are finally releasing Super Mario Kart onto the Virtual Console and it's hitting the Shopping Channel this Friday 2nd April 2010.
Considered a classic by many and one of the best videogames ever made, Super Mario Kart was developed seventeen years ago and has since had five sequels. The series has since become one of the most popular in videogames.
Super Mario Kart includes over 20 tracks to race on, all rendered with the Mode7 engine, which allows for a fluid race experience. Not only that, but it features some of the most prominant courses, which Mario Kart fans have come to love and are still featured in recent iterations of the series, including Mario Kart Wii and Mario Kart DS. Race around Ghost Valley, Bowser Castle, Koopa Beach or give yourself an extra challenge on Rainbow Road.
For just 800 Wii Points you can relive the exciting multiplayer aspect of the game or try your hand at Battle Mode. Go it solo and race against other Mushroom Kingdom favourites.
