Epic Mickey is Exclusive to Wii on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Some had speculated that the recently confirmed Epic Mickey was not a Wii exclusive. According to GameInformer, it is.

The US magazine donned its new cover earlier this week, with a few details over on its website. Since the announcement the snippet about the game's exclusivity was quietly removed, leading fans to wonder if it would appear on other platforms.

GameInformer have since released a statement confirming that, as far as they know, the project is coming exclusively to Nintendo's Wii - for now.

We were trying to save this nugget for when the magazine hits this coming Monday, but it seems the rumor mill has gotten out of control and it is time to put it in its place. Disney Epic Mickey is indeed a Wii Exclusive. If there is another version in the works out there for another system, we certainly aren't aware of it.

Thanks to GoNintendo.

Their "rumor mill" is FROM GameInformer! Anyway, I think this is great news, although I certainly feel Epic Mickey could be competent on one of the HD Twins if not both. Exclusivity is never bad, but it's not always the answer.

I imagine the concept art would translate beautifully in HD. PS3 version with the wand?

"Exclusive" 3rd Party game for a Nintendo console usually means that the game will be ported to another console if it does well. That's the way things work.

If its being developed for wii, the only other versions thatmay or may not appear are downgraded ps2 or psp versions, but who really cares.

If Wii is the primary platform that is all that mater's, as it means we get a game that really makes the most of our system.

Well I hope it turns out to be a great game. The concept art looks awesome Smilie.

Exactly, Darkflame. Wii does lose a lot when getting a port of a HD and joypad game and moreso when released on Wii 8 months later, because everyone knows the game who cared for it, because he bought it on the two HDs.
And it's even less great to get a toned down HD port, that never works: bad textures, evil blocky levels... That's partly because these's engines don't scale down very well and you have to use the same engine, because porting costs would be much higher or ports would take several months.

I find your lack of faith disturbing!
