Activision's President, Ron Doornink spoke of the deal:
"Our association with Marvel has resulted in some of the most critically acclaimed and successful superhero video games ever. This announcement further underscores the strength of our relationship with Marvel and our commitment to the superhero genre and allows us to continue developing exceptional games based on these highly successful franchises well into the future."

Activision is already working on "X2: Wolverine's Revenge" which will be released simultaneously with the latest movie. Games based on Fantastic Four and Iron Man are also stated to have been tailored for.
