Wario Ware Hits the GameCube......But How Does it Shape-Up?Made in Wario, or Wario Ware as it is known outside of Japan, has been a major success for Nintendo in both Japan and the US. It's blend of fast-reaction gameplay and complete addictiveness sent gamers, as well as industry moguls, into a wild frenzy upon its initial release. Once more Nintendo had been deemed the Kings of Innovation. So on announcement of a GameCube version many were, of course, eager to see what wonders would be included in a next-generation iteration - perhaps Mario 64 mini-games, or something of that quality. Well, renowned gaming journal Famitsu has just reviewed the Japanese review code of Atsumare! Made in Wario (Wario Ware GC - working title)...and the news is not exactly what would be expected. Here is what the final score it received, with each individual reviewer score in brackets: 27/40 (7, 7, 7, 6) Apparently the single player mode is almost identical to the original GameBoy Advance Made in Wario, with the only new editions being in the form of the multi-player aspects - and even these simply consist of previous micro-games! Players must attempt the games in order to acheive a higher score than their opponents. This is, therefore, a major disappointment and a sign that Nintendo has decided to merely milk the game's idea in a cheap attempt to further GameCube sales some more. According to Famitsu, if you have never played the game on the handheld, which most British people won't have, then this is definitely the version that should be bought - especially as the multi-player aspect can become quite engaging at times. So far Wario Ware GC has not been announced for a North American or European release, but it does launch in Japan next week and with the small amount of in-game text it will prove to be perfect for anyone interested in importing.
