New Trailer for Pokémon Gold/Silver DS on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

The official Pokémon Japanese page has popped up a new trailer for the DS Poké-remakes: Heart Gold and Soul Silver.

The footage shows off some of the spiffy new features fans can look out for - including seeing your "following" Pokémon cut through trees and pushing boulders on screen. The game is due out on September 12, 2009, to coincide with the 10th anniversary of the original Game Boy Colour versions a decade ago.

Those who pre-order will also receive exclusive figures of the games' legendary Pokémon. Pre-order both and you'll nab the one in the middle, Arceus, as well.

I'm incredibly impressed by the 3D Ho-Oh and Lugia, this game alone is such a huge step up from Platinum, it really makes me sure that we won't be disappointed by how the next generation Pokémon games evolve the series, assuming they keep all the features and don't ditch anything like Gen 3 did!

Awesome autumn foliage at 0:23, that's probably Ecruteak city. Environments really do look alot more detailed.

I could listen to the announcer say Heart Gold Soul Silver forever.

Smilie

I want that NOW!

The former top user was Keven! You'd probably give birth to yourself 1000 times over until you sprout wings to fly away into the fading sun, that or you'd just turn into a lesbian. Who knows @_@ - L, 12/06/09

These games are going to be so hardcore.
Like, AMAZINGLY hardcore.
I'll be sure to get all 3 figurines
[Which have become standard for new game releases I'm assuming?]
These will seriously be the best Pokemon games to date.
I'm extremely excited.

So the pedometer connects to the game? BRILLIANT!

And we get a Raikou Cat Statue? MOAR AWESOME!

It requires great courage to look at oneself honestly, and forge one's own path.

It didn't look all that amazing to me.

So, no longer will I have to ride my bike up and down on the same path just to get my Pokemon in the Daycare to level up? Sweet! Smilie

They are really getting their shit together with this one.

I mean, the graphics are better, you can have every existing pokemon out and following you, there's a pedometer, and Kanto is still a playable area. I couldn't have asked for more.

The amazing thing is that I expected less and still would have loved it!

This is the kind of care a lot of games lately seem to lack, putting in extra features that noone asked for but would still love. It\'s awesome and my respect for GameFreak has risen considerably.

I just wish it happened in more games.

I didn't like the environments in Diamond but this game looks to improve on the engine in almost everyway. More colour, more variety and just more little details added that do a lot to make the game look amazing.

I'm glad they finally got around to implementing the touch screen properly. Scrolling through your bag and pokedex should be much more comfortable now.

One thing I'm hoping to see them do is to take advantage of all the buttons on the DS. Allow us to assign more than one item to the buttons not used in DPP. I'd love to be able to assign both my bike and super rod.

Yeah I know!!!

I would like to build upon that. This is very nittpicky, but it didn't make sense to me that you have to select said key item, and press register. I think they should have it so you just press Y over the highlighted item to register it.
